multicast

The simultaneous delivery of a file to a number of computers. Multicasting reduces load on a network by sending one file to multiple client computers.

To simultaneously send the same message to a list of recipients on a network.

Sending a message simultaneously to more than one destination on a network. See also broadcast, unicast.
