We just got a new computer for our kids. What's the best way to block out unwanted adult content?

Software filters are available to help screen out adult content from the Internet. Some commercial products are sold in stores with easy instructions on how to install and set perimeters for what to block. Many of these programs allow you to block by type of content -- adult content, gambling sites, or sites that promote hatred or intolerance of certain groups. You might also be able to filter out content on a site by site basis, but that will be quite time consuming. Some Internet services provide software filters for free. Check with your service provider to see whether you already have the tools you need at your disposal to protect your children from accessing inappropriate content over the Internet.
