Norton Family: NEW School Time feature keeps children focused on schoolwork
Oct 15, 2020
Have the Home Schooling Blues?
For many parents of school age children, 2020 has had many challenges, but one of the most stressful, has been home schooling. Norton Family and Norton 360 with Parental Control can help.
Keeping your child focus and engaged with their virtual classroom has become a job unto itself. Kids are understandably distracted by games, social media and anything else they can find on the web. And because remote learning requires the internet, pausing it on your child’s device is not an option.
With the release of the new School Time feature (available on Windows, Android and iOS), you can easily manage your child’s home school environment and keep your child focused on schoolwork when school’s in session.
Parents can select which categories of web content their child can access while the feature is enabled
Parents can add specific sites required by their child’s school to focus remote learning
Parents can customize a block list for sites that may distract their child during the school day.
Once schoolwork is done, Norton Family automatically switches back to the house rule policy (or it can be manually disabled at any time).
As one of the first parental management feature of its kind, School Time enables you to create and enforce a remote learning policy quickly and easily with a School Time button right in the dashboard. It’s that simple.
Norton Family and Norton Parental Control can only be installed and used on a child’s Windows PC, iOS and Android devices but not all features are available on all platforms. Parents can monitor and manage their child’s activities from any device – Windows PC, Mac, iOS and Android -- via our mobile apps, or by signing into their account at my.Norton.com and selecting Parental Control via any browser.
