Adware.SoftwareUpdater is an adware program that displays advertisements on the computer.

Once executed, the program creates the following files:

The program the connects to the following remote location in order to retrieve software detection rules:

The program then checks to see if certain software is installed on the computer. If specific software is detected, the program contacts the following remote location to retrieve additional information on the software:

The additional information includes the following:
  • Software name
  • Software version
  • Download URL
  • Release date
  • Terms
  • Help URL
  • Image URL

The program then displays a pop-up message on the desktop of the computer asking the user to update the software. The message will also include an advertisement for potentially unwanted applications.



The program may also download updates from the following remote location:
  • [http://]cdn.software-updater.com/updater/Upgrad[REMOVED]
