The glossary below contains many of the terms you will find in common use throughout the Symantec Security Response website. Please refer to this list to find definitions of terms and answers to other Internet security-related questions.

large file

A file larger than two terabytes. VxFS supports files up to 256 terabytes in size.

A file larger than one terabyte. VxFS supports files up to 8 exabytes in size.

A file more than two gigabytes in size. An operating system that uses a 32-bit signed integer to address file contents will not support large files; however, the Version 4 disk layout feature of VxFS supports file sizes of up to two terabytes.
