Behavior


Adware.Downreceive installs an adware program that contacts a remote server and downloads and displays advertisements on the compromised computer.

Symptoms


The files are detected as Adware.Downreceive.

Transmission


This adware program must be manually installed. However, there are several programs that have Adware.Downreceive within them and that install it as the program itself is installed.

Note: Since late 2002, Adware.Downreceive appears to have been disassociated with eAcceleration products.
