Windows 10 End of Life (EOL): Norton to continue providing security updates

As of October 14, 2025, Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 10. This is a planned end of life (EOL) date, meaning you won’t receive security fixes after this date. However, Norton will continue to provide security updates to our software supporting Windows 10 devices.

Without Microsoft’s security patches, bug fixes, and performance enhancements, you may soon find your Windows 10 device becoming unresponsive — potentially even a more vulnerable target for security threats.

Thankfully, Norton will continue to release updates for the Windows 10 security software plans, so you can still enjoy everything from our scam and malware protection to the privacy offered by our in-built VPN.

The Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU) program is also available until October 13, 2026. This gives you critical and important security updates if you’re running Windows 10, version 22H2. Customers in the United States can enroll in the ESU program for $30, by redeeming 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points, or by syncing your PC settings.

EU customers are automatically eligible for ESU enrollment and device updates until October 2026 — as long as the PC is running Windows 10 version 22H2, is up to date as of October 14, 2025, and you’re signed in to a Microsoft account. If you’re not signed in to your Microsoft account, the updates will stop after 60 days.
